Hi, we're Michael and Luísa. Welcome to The Art Plantation, a healthy‐living initiative rooted in the breathtaking Azores!

An important part of our well-being begins with what surrounds us and we believe that every product should reflect care: for you, for others, and for the planet.

At our core is a commitment to sustainability. We strive to use materials, processes, and practices that reduce harm, waste, and environmental impact. It’s not just an add-on, it’s part of who we are.

For example, we don’t buy glass jars for our candles—and we never will. Every piece of glass we use is re-used, many jars donated by our community. This helps us minimize resource consumption, reduce waste, and honour the materials we already have. When you light a candle from The Art Plantation, you’re part of something circular, something mindful.

We also believe that creativity, craft, and culture have power. That’s why one of our greatest joys is promoting the arts and crafts of others. We are always looking to collaborate with artisans, makers, and creatives—sharing stories, skills, and products—to ensure that art is not peripheral, but central to daily life. When you support us, you support not only sustainable products, but sustainable livelihoods and vibrant creative communities.
